Sourcing
Every factual claim in a report should be traceable. We cite makers’ specifications, independent lab results and large pools of owner reviews, and list them under References. If we cannot source a claim, we leave it out.
Accuracy
Each report is checked by its analyst against the sources before it goes live. Prices carry the retailer and date because they change often. A price that has moved since our check is not treated as an error, but we update prices monthly.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and update the date on the report. If the fix changes a score or a rank, we add a note explaining what changed. Send corrections to [email protected].
Conflicts of interest
Analysts may not score products from a company they own shares in or have worked for in the past two years. Gifts and free trips from brands are not accepted.
Language
We write in plain English for the market we cover: American spelling for US reports and British spelling for UK reports. We avoid jargon, and when we have to use a technical term we explain it.
